Ha tenido lugar la visita del obispo de Huelva, José Vilaplana Blasco, al Ayuntamiento de Almonte, donde ha sido recibido por el alcalde José Antonio Domínguez Iglesias y parte del equipo de gobierno de la institución. Tras las palabras iniciales de bienvenida al municipio y al edificio, el alcalde ha obsequiado al obispo con el conjunto de láminas llamado “Rocío, Obra Gráfica”, del artista onubense Juan Carlos Castro Crespo. A continuación, firmó en el libro de honor y consultó datos sobre la localidad en términos de población y asuntos sociales.
La visita pastoral de José Vilaplana se inició el pasado domingo. Presidió en la Parroquia la eucaristía y el reconocimiento papal al sacristán del templo, Manuel Barragán. El lunes y tras su paso por el Ayuntamiento, ha continuado por el Santuario del Rocío y el colegio público Doñana de la aldea. Allí ha mantenido un contacto con niños y jóvenes que participarán de estos sacramentos este año, y con sus respectivas familias. En las jornadas de martes y jueves, retomará el diálogo con instituciones, asociaciones y particulares para conocer las necesidades de esta comunidad.
Palabras del obispo
José Vilaplana tuvo palabras para los representantes institucionales presentes en el encuentro. En sus palabras, personas con ilusión y ganas de trabajar “que tienen el deber de enfrentar la crisis actual desde su capacidad para poder superarla”. Compartió proyectos en materia social que está ejecutando el Obispado y expresó su deseo de conocer los que surgen del esfuerzo municipal y la colaboración con colectivos afines.
Desde el Ayuntamiento se le ha informado de diferentes iniciativas en materia solidaria puestas en marcha por la administración local. Alberto Mondaca, en calidad de concejal de Asuntos Sociales, avanzó el proyecto de economato social participado por Ayuntamiento, Hermandad Matriz y Cáritas, que espera ver la luz en los próximos meses. Para ello, la corporación local ha contactado con el colectivo “Resurgir” de la capital, que se dedica a esta misma actividad.
Del mismo modo, se le ha comunicado que la institución Cáritas pasará de pagar un alquiler mensual a disponer de un local propio cedido por el Ayuntamiento. Por otra parte, y según recordó el párroco de Almonte, José García, el consistorio local ha decidido subvencionar la licencia correspondiente a las obras que se emprenderán próximamente en la techumbre de la iglesia, y ha aportado una cantidad económica con vistas a acondicionar el templo con motivo de la estancia de la Virgen del Rocío en la villa de Almonte, tal y como sucede cada siete años. En esta oportunidad, el acontecimiento tendrá lugar desde el próximo mes de agosto y hasta mayo de 2013.
Con relación a la visita que el obispo está dirigiendo a colectivos del municipio durante estos días, el equipo de gobierno del Partido Popular ha destacado que se ha decidido el cambio de sede de la asociación de alzheimer. Su emplazamiento actual dispone de 25 metros cuadrados, por lo que en breve marchará a un edificio municipal de 150 metros cuadrados. Se espera que en un futuro pueda albergar un centro de día para unas 250 personas.
